Bio
Dubbed Kingston's Reggae Sensation by Alan Neal of
CBC Radio,
Ianspotting is a vibrant, reggae-influenced band hailing from the same small town
that produced Sarah Harmer
and The Tragically Hip.
In 2007, Ianspotting was crowned winners of Kingston's
KROCK 105.7
Bandslam competition. More recently, they represented Kingston and the
surrounding area in the Bodog Battle band competition held in Toronto, a show that
allowed them to share a stage with some of Ontario's top up-and-coming bands.
In 2008, Ianspotting released their first full-length album,
Good Question.
Question is a great blend of several genres of music and has been met with praise
from both fans and critics alike. On-air personality "Big" Kris Bawden recently
exclaimed to KROCK 105.7 fans that Ianspotting's new album is "executed with style and
flair" and, "If you haven't heard of them yet, you will soon".
In their short time together, Ianspotting has become a
recognizable name on Kingston's eclectic music scene and has played countless shows
across Ontario. Their dynamic live show energizes listeners from start to finish and,
as a result, they have had the opportunity to share stages with
Bedouin Soundclash and
Canadian music icons, Trooper.
In October 2008, Ianspotting will be on tour with Bent Penny Records
recording artist, Hello Beautiful.
On their first tour across Canada, Ianspotting will be sharing their unique and lively
sound with music fans from Toronto to Vancouver Island.
